Chain Link Utility Enclosure — Raymore, MO
Utility enclosure in Raymore
We built a 6-foot galvanized chain link enclosure approximately 20×30 feet around the HVAC bank and electrical service panels. Heavy-duty 2-3/8-inch galvanized terminal posts are set at each corner with a full diagonal brace and truss rod. A double drive gate on one side allows equipment access. Top rail runs the full perimeter.
The property manager needed a secure, code-compliant enclosure around a bank of HVAC units and electrical panels — accessible for service techs but locked against unauthorized access. Commercial utility enclosures have specific requirements in Cass County: access gate must accommodate service equipment, panels must remain visible for emergency shutoff, and the fence must not restrict airflow to the units.
Commercial chain link to code
Commercial enclosures have stricter post depth requirements than residential — we ran 42-inch post depth on the terminal corners to handle the gate torque. Chain link gauge on commercial applications goes to 9-gauge minimum, heavier than residential 11-gauge. Our galvanized chain link fence installations for commercial properties specify gauge to application, not to budget.
Secure and serviceable
The enclosure passes the property's insurance inspection requirements and gives service techs controlled access via the padlocked drive gate. The galvanized finish won't rust in Raymore's wet spring seasons. For larger perimeter work, the same install standards apply across our commercial fence installation services.
